My Approach

There’s more than only one answer…

In that moment, when you’re feeling overwhelmed and ready to shut down, you might want an answer – but I’ll bet you don’t want to be told what to do.

A listening ear would be welcome, but some feedback would be nice, too.

I won’t tell you what to do, but I’m not just going to just sit there, smile, and nod, either. I’ve got a lot of experience helping people trudge through their muck, so I’m going to use that experience to help you through yours.

But it IS a one-way trip.

That’s right, the way out from the muck is through.

Not over or around – but through.

But I’ve been through lots of muck with my clients, so I know a lot about navigating it.

Granted, I’ve never traveled through your particular geography before, but we’ll map your path together.

Setting Up Basecamp

As we journey these lands together, our first goal will be to get some initial stabilization. We’ll set up basecamp with some basic tools – think of them as tools for the hikes we’ll take.

Some of the hikes will be easy with spectacular vistas! Others might cause you to question your footing, and you might not enjoy the view as much. It’s all par for the course.

Once we’ve set up our basecamp, we can start exploring with some excursions. We may delve into your inner world, your outer world, and your experiences in session with me and others.

As we go, we’ll discover patterns in your thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and even unconscious rules that you live by. We’ll unpack everything.

Exploring Challenging Terrain

This unpacking part can get a little uncomfortable. But that’s okay. That’s why we have basecamp. We can always go back there to check-in and re-up on supplies.

The discomfort is usually a good sign, a sign of growth. Our goal is to visit your wounds – but not live there.
